Child Friendly Attendance Policy
Our child-friendly attendance policy emphasises the importance of attending school every day. It explains that coming to school helps you learn, make friends, and develop skills, while improving your future chances of getting a job or going to college. It highlights that attending school is also required by law. Missing school can result in falling behind in learning, boredom, and missing out on fun activities like educational trips and school clubs. It encourages pupils to aim for at least 97% attendance and to stay home only if they are genuinely ill. If absent, parents or carers should inform the school and provide a reason.

Weekly Attendance Information
As part of our commitment to improving attendance, in line with the Working Together to Improve Attendance guidance (DfE 2024), we regularly share updates on both class and whole-school attendance. This helps us to monitor progress, celebrate success, and identify any areas where support may be needed. Our goal is to ensure all pupils maintain strong attendance, which is crucial for their academic success and overall well-being. Through these updates, we aim to keep families informed and engaged in supporting their child’s consistent attendance.
